Model dump files (3DD, 3DC)

Model Dump File .3DD is an ASCII file that contains the geometric description of the selected set of Plant Modeller model objects. It does not contain any material information. Optionally, the connection data (nodes) can be included in the dump file; click Advanced to select the tags to be exported.

The binary format for the dump file is .3DC, and this format is used in the eXchanger application which is an AutoCAD add-on. The model dump file is used to transfer the geometry of model objects to Component Modeller or to another model.

Node Information

Node information is given as a sequence of tags. This sequence contains information for all the nodes.

Information for a particular node begins with the tag I3DD_NODETAG_ID "NOD" that gives the node ID number for the node. This tag also signals that all information for the preceding node has been seen.
